Iran, Esfahan
Mar. 23rd, 8:30 am

A nock on the door could be the best thing at the moment to happen. Kaveh looked at Roy and said, ' one is asking your permission if he can come in'
Roy opened his eyes and said surprised, ' my permission?'
Got up half sitting in his bed and looked at the door, Kaveh asked in Farsi, ' who's it?'
A young new officer opened the door slowly and saluted to the both, and introduced himself, ' Captain Omid Pegah'

Captain Omid Pegah, 25, fighter pilot, he is fresh and happy, zealot and brave, and looks much younger than his age.

Hearing his name, Kaveh was surprised; Roy noticed the strange look in his eyes. Omid entered and Raha fallowed him inside.
' As we didn't report Mr. Harding, we must have invited one more officer instead, Captain Pegah is going to join us since today.' She said.
Roy looked at the floor.
Omid went towards Roy and said politely, ' I was really eager to meet you again, sir'
He was smiling; Roy felt this young officer’s never had any pain in his life. He seemed not to notice the unrest in Roy and the sudden change in Kaveh.
' Again?' asked Roy silently, ' why? Have we met once?'
' Yes in a professional trip! We are workmates, or, perhaps I must say you were my trainer, sir'
With a lot of amazement, Roy looked at Kaveh for help.
Kaveh's eyes shined and said, ' then I correctly remember your name in the list, I was afraid how you would deal your opponent.' Looked at Roy to explain but Omid was faster saying ' Major, I'm the same pilot who traced you two days ago when you entered Iranian air, I learnt a lot from you, your courage and your skill! I never thought you could reach to Natanz. You did! And I never thought you would be so human, well, you were!'
Roy looked up directly into Omid's eyes, ' you're courageous!' he said. Omid's face lit up and said humbling ' your action's been so much more valuable; you refused releasing your bomb while you had passed all of snags, when you had no one to stop you, you won yourself! It's the most difficult thing one may do in one's lifetime'
Roy turned his face away and whispered, ' I refused my certain duty, even my moral duty, treason is not valuable'
' Why moral?' asked Kaveh.
' I was chosen to save a nation by destroying your nuclear desire, you people are making a great danger to the entire world but you don't understand.' Roy said softly in a low voice. ' Other countries will also join the war, you will have to nuke them all, they all will nuke you! … I might have killed a few thousand people that would be innocent, yes, but how many people will a nuclear attack kill? Was it moral to let millions die with your nukes just for saving a thousand people?'
Kaveh looked at Raha, he really didn't know what he could say, the difference between the two points of view was so deep that the only answer could be silence.
But Kaveh tried to answer while he had seen Roy a man of listening and thinking, ' then you say we are making nuclear bombs, and you say we are going to attack israel if we have it, and you say you could destroy it all, and you say killing some Iranians would be ok to save some israelis! Four completely different subjects!'
' Don't say you're not making nukes, or then why do you refuse the request of the world to halt enrichment? Why do you not ensure the world?'
' Because our very certain rights are violated and denied,' said Omid ' they don't even let us enrich Uranium to 4 percent! They want to keep power in their own borders and never let anyone step in, what country is dealt like us in the world? israel is not even a member of NPT, they do have nukes, why don't you protest them? Same about many others that are making nuclear weapons, we are just enriching to produce electricity that we badly need nowadays …' but he suddenly felt ashamed of speaking rough with an officer of higher rank, and stopped!
' I don't think we need to defend ourselves in that case at all,' Raha said to end Omid's comment ' countries which are testing advanced versions of nuclear weapons and have used them before, have no right to decide if we can have nuclear power or not! Especially while, they need to read our minds to know if we are going to have N-weapons once. People forget very fast, we halted for two years and a half! (2003-2006- 43) Oh what a mistake, if we hadn’t we didn’t have so many problems today'
Then went on still standing ' also, who says we are going to attack israel? We don't need to! And we aren't going to help the occupation seem oppressed in the public opinion and help powers build a bigger stronger israel. A military action will not remove it, it'll expand it'
' Who said israel must be wiped off from the map? Was it me?' Roy said cutting her off.
' Soviet Union is also wiped off from the map today; did any war happen with it?' Raha answered, ' where is the apartheid regime of South Africa on the map? the illegal regime must and will be wiped off and even no war is required,
' A free referendum would be the solution, but still we don't feel responsible to explain it to the governments that arrange wars all over the world and threaten nations to holocaust (45). The third point was you thought you could destroy our nuclear abilities. It's surprising how you think you can destroy science with bombing! Facilities will be built again, the technology matters.'
‘You can’t be trusted anyway while you already support terrorism against Israel' said Roy.
' And you said israelis are defending themselves righteously. Because they are attacked and surrounded by enemies,’ said Kaveh, 'I wonder who is the real terrorist? Those who occupy or those who resist?'
Raha didn't agree to begin another discussion, it would annoy Roy, but Roy favored argues and didn't care as much as she though he did. Omid didn't know what to do.

Kaveh saw the warning look of Raha and lowered his voice, but continued, ‘Nazis occupied France, French people never stopped fighting to free their country, and you helped them, by your definition then Frenchmen been terrorists and you been terrorist supporters.’
Roy rose his head up and looked at Kaveh, ' at least Israel have the right to defend their civilians, the Palestinians keep killing innocent israelis, that's not human' he said.
' I don't know why one israeli killed there is human being but 127 Palestinians killed at the same time are not' (hot winter operation) said Omid.
' The Palestinians provoke the israelis' answered Roy immediately, ' the Palestinian Islamists fire rockets into civilian neighborhoods, the israelis fire on militant strongholds'
' What about 3000 Palestinian refugees killed in Sebra and Shetila camps (in one day -45) long before any rocket was ever fired? And millions of displaced refugees?' Omid said.
Kaveh said impatiently ' Tell me what you will do if some people occupy your country? ... How is it that everybody who fights against occupier is freedom fighter, Palestinians do the same and are called terrorists?'
' For they're killing civilians, and they're invoking the name of God'
' Hmm! Then israelis are civilian and Palestinians are sheep! No problem when israel said they are going to make a greater holocaust in Gaza?'
' Oh! I bet it's a misinterpretation'
' They used exactly the word Holocaust, it was Fox News I read it in, the title was, Israel Warns of Unleashing ' Holocaust' in Gaza if Rocket Attacks Continue (46 http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,333849,00.html )
' They began it the same day by killing 53 Palestinians, containing infants, killing 127 within 5 days after that.'
' Oh! … Probably accident!'
With this sentence, Kaveh suddenly felt tire. What a funny accident it would be, israelis speak of holocaust, begin killing, media don't cover the killing… all by accident!!

Yes, these accidents happen almost everyday in Palestine!

Kaveh turned his head away and sighed, no one answered, it was Roy that, with a really worried tone, asked, ' then you accept killing civilians, huh?'
It wasn't a question to argue this time. For the first time he wanted to have his answer.
' In your eyes only Americans are human beings and only westerners are civilians, the world in your idea …'
' Mr. Hani!' Raha stopped Kaveh, ' I do expect you a calmer and more reasonable manner! He is just questioning, you must just answer'
Then pulled a chair toward her and sat down, addressing Roy, ' of course not … no innocent life must die, or it will be as if to kill all of the people, Quran says.'
Then looked at Roy to see if she could continue. He seemed more relieved, after a short silence he said, ' even if Israelis kill civilian Palestinians there, still it doesn't justify killing Israeli innocent ones by Palestinians.'
Kaveh wanted to say no occupier is innocent, occupiers aren't civilians, they all are soldiers, one by one. But looking at Raha, he felt he shouldn't speak. He was angry now, and he never spoke when he felt angry.
' Think a group like Alqaeda go to the USA, and occupy some lands and you can't resist at first because they are supported highly' said Raha, ' they exile millions of your compatriots and bring some other immigrants to live in your home, still furnished, send your baby and wife to camps while these new immigrants know that home is yours
' If some people do that with my country I don't consider them civilians, a civilian lives in his own home not my home, and I would push them out of my home in any possible way
' In fact they are soldiers whose attendance supports the occupying regime to go on its cruelty and as long as they feel security in their society they will stay. They are not a nation; they're a collection of an especial idea, a squad.
' In the age of 18 every israeli, male or female, is called for military service, you can't say an israeli over 18 doesn't know what is happening in the occupied land.
' We’ll have absolutely no problem with them if they go back to their own countries
‘Tell me, are they civilians?’
' What about kids? They don't choose where to be born' said Roy.
' I do agree!' said Raha, ' no kids should be killed .Within recent years hardly an israeli child's got killed,' 47 (http://www.rememberthesechildren.org/remember2000.html)
' Do you see it fair to hide your gun and hit your enemy from the back?' said Roy, ' even if you insist they are soldiers and not ordinary people, it's not a human way to fight'
' You’re right, it’s condemned, but how can I condemn a Palestinian?
‘When the world and occupiers neglect your simplest human rights, and no one hears your scream for help in the whole world, you will do anything; give up your life at least to save your brothers. Many people go crazy under such conditions, but Palestinians didn't kill kids even in such a time … except a few ones killed accidentally, though I do not justify.' 48 http://www.rememberthesechildren.org/
' Some of the Jews are born in the land, you can't exile them from the soil they are born in' said Roy.
' Though they have countries where their parents are from, but I agree they can stay. But under a just legal regime, letting the refugees return and all of these people equally vote for a united regime. We don't have any problem with religions and people, our problem is with occupation and cruelty'

Taha looked at the phone on his desk, no one to call him! Raha used to call him in such a time if she wasn't alerted, but now it was 3 days he didn't even hear news from her. He felt sick, got up and opened the window, leaned out of the window and looked at Soffe mount far away. In his nice Arabic accent, but in Farsi, he said, ' O Soffe, will you be as unlucky as Zion one day? Will they displace anyone in your name once like what they did with Zion? Then thought how cruel they are, even now in Iran, away from home; still they kept his loved ones away from him.

Rose checked her passport, everything was ok, she could set off tomorrow or the day after. For the first time she went to bed with comfort after a long stress, embraced {?} her Bee, and kissed again and again.

The oil price had grown even higher after the economical deadline of the Security Council on Iran. Everybody knew that Iran's influence on the oil market was more than all of other exporters, and it worried Europe.
After studying the deadline of powers for one day, Iran declared its respond if the sanction is carried out, will be to close the waterway of Hormoz, which is the vital way for transit of oil to the world.
Although the United States denied the ability of Iran to close the waterway, the threat was injected in the Market like a poison and caused a rise of 20 percent in total price of oil. Concerns and protests arose and inflation showed its first signs in the global economy.

' You're awake! Why are you crying?' in an almost good Arabic, an israeli soldier addressed Mohamed. Mohamed looked at him with horror and surprise.
' Hey boy, it was great! I enjoyed your courage.'
' You… speak Arabic?' he asked trembling.
' shish! I studied Arabic in the school'
' In israel?'
' No… in Iran indeed'
' Iran?! You been there? I thought you hated them!'
' Been there? I am Iranian!' the israeli soldier said smiling, Then explained, 'I was in Iran until 13, I had a Muslim friend. I'll never forget him.'
' I didn't have any idea any Jew would live in Iran!!' said Mohamed.
' Persian Jews are a great society; they have very deep historical roots. There are more …'
' You're a rootless bush astray in the wind, go occupy land of other nations for you have no place to live and no idea about patriotism…' shouted Mohamed and suddenly understanding he was making things worse, he burst into tears.
The israeli called on him worriedly to be quiet, another one approached them to ask what was wrong.
' Nothing! Nothing! The boy's missed his mother.' He answered, then turned to him and whispered ' stupid boy! I'm trying to help'
' I don't want no help from Jews, I want them die, I want them go out from my country. Give me back my father and brother. Give me my freedom.' Mohamed argued in a rich accent that the man, called Daniel, didn't understand.
' look, I don't really know enough Arabic to explain, but it wasn't me who decided, it was parents, I was a child like you' Mohamed didn't listen, he was crying, but Daniel continued,  ‘ I want to go back to Iran but I had to pass my military service first, it's nearly over … I will go back as soon as I can, please stop crying.'
' Mum says if you capture a nightingale and put it in a cage then give it good seeds, still you are not a good man, because you have taken its freedom, mum says if you displace a man from his home and usurp his place then say let's be friends since now on, you are still evil!'
Daniel tried to understand what he said, but a few years of school education didn't help much about the childish local accent through tears. At the most he could guess what he meant
'All what I can do is to return my homeland!'

At the same time but on the other side of the earth, Rose was full of hope and joy, she had done all what she needed to go to Europe, but she hadn't informed anyone. She was very surprised when she heard a knock, and even more surprised when she found the CIA officer at the door. He looked at her carefully, a young woman in simple clothes carrying a baby in her arms, ' good evening Ms, can I come in?' he asked.
' Sure' she invited him in and asked if he would drink a cup of coffee.
' I'm just here to make sure if you are aware of your condition today, your sudden decision to leave the country has concerned us, we hope you aren't about to take a crucial decision.'
She was annoyed feeling they were interfering what she saw as her personal choice while she hadn't informed them and hadn't asked for their help, ' do you have any problem with a citizen of the United States wishing to leave the country for a vacation?'
' No! Surely not' he said, ' what we are going to warn you about is your own security, anything your purpose is, it is not a vacation for sure! You're aware of your global situation as the wife of the kidnapped pilot, your life may be at risk by terrorism network or global jobbers, and your emotional situation is also important, you may not be able to decide wisely while you're under mental pressure. Seems in this current time the best choice for you is to stay in the US.'
' And any more advises Sir?' she said impatiently.
' Take it serious Ms'
' Then you think I'll be safe here huh? Receiving 4 threatening mails in 3 days wouldn't be a good beginning'
' You must have informed us, it must be radical nationalist groups that accuse your husband of treason'
' What you accuse him for?'
' It is not a good time for arguing lady! You would better think about our advise instead of looking at us as enemy'
' Ok, ok, thank you Sir' she got up to lead him to the door, ' I will think about it, have a good night'

Though his words had scared her a lot but she didn't change her idea, she was just more excited now, the baby began crying, she took her up again and said, ' what's wrong honey? Don't worry, no one's going to stop us, we are in our way to find dad!'
